Senior staff members of the Tem-Ta124 project Dr. Rait Kivi and Dr. Nastassia Shtaida presented the intermediate results of the project on the 23rd Baltic Polymer Symposium that was held in Tallinn on 1-3 October, 2025.
This year, the symposium was organized by the TalTech Wood Valorisation HUB and placed a distinctive focus on the contribution of polymer science to sustainable material development across four key areas:
- Wood-based materials
- Textile materials
- Functional materials
- Composite materials
Tem-Ta124 project focuses on the engineering and production of bio-inspired protein-based adhesives in yeast. These adhesives could be later used in various fields: from wood industry and textiles to medical applications.
