SUSTAINABLE BIO-MANUFACTURING SOLUTIONS FOR EUROPE

The Estonian Research Council and the University of Tartu are pleased to invite you a networking seminar “SUSTAINABLE BIO-MANUFACTURING SOLUTIONS FOR EUROPE”.

11 April 2019, 17:00-19:00

RATIONALE

Recently the EC adopted a renewed EU Strategy on Bioeconomy, with the aim of scaling up and strengthening bio-based production sectors across Europe. Member States and regions, particularly in Central and Eastern Europe, have large underused biomass and waste potential, making their rapid transition key for EU’s competitiveness and bio-sustainability.

The seminar will present EU and national Bioeconomy policy priorities in the context of EU’s R&D Framework Programme, and opportunities for industry-academia cooperation within the scope of the public-private partnership “Bio-Based Industries” (BBI).

The seminar also features successful case studies of R&D institutions and companies developing new knowledge and technology solutions for sustainable bio-manufacturing of high value chemicals and pharmaceuticals, wood and biomass valorization.
